Frequently Asked Questions

Take a chance to look at common questions to gain more information about curriculum, financial aid, and more! Should you have any questions, contact our office today and we will be happy to assist you.

What are the school’s attendance hours?

We offer several enrollment times to fit the students’ individual needs. Full-time attendance is 9am – 5:30 pm; ¾ -time is 9 am – 3 pm, and Part-time is 9 am – 1 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer no classes on nights or weekends so the students can have their family time. Manicuring students attend daily 10:30 am – 4 pm.

How long does it take to complete my hours/course?

Full-time Cosmetology students can complete in as little as 9 months, ¾ time approximately 14 months, and P/T will spend about 19 months. Manicuring students should complete in 4 months.

What services will my license allow me to offer after I graduate?

A Cosmetology student completing 1500 hours will be licensed to cut, color, perm, style, manicure, artificial nails, pedicure, eyelash extensions, facials, and waxing services. Our students are also certified to do Brazillian Blowout Services.

When can I work on people and do haircuts, etc.?

All Cosmetology students are required to complete Basic training and 160 hours before doing any guest services. Manicuring students must complete Basic training and 75 hours before they may do guest services. However, during Basic training, students may also learn/practice on other students.

How do I learn all of the material in the textbook?

Students are required to attend class daily, the first hour of the day. Theory class is taught continuously throughout the period of enrollment so that the student has ongoing learning of the material.

How do I apply for Financial Aid?

A student can go to the Department of Education’s website at https://www.fafsa.ed.gov. There is also a link on the Student Resource page of our website that will take you directly to the FAFSA application.

How much is your tuition?

The Cosmetology course is $14,500. Manicuring is $4,099. There is, however, no financial aid available for the manicuring course as it is less than 600 hours and the Department does not fund courses less than 600 hours.

When can I get a Student loan for Cosmetology School?

After a student has been in attendance for 30 days, the student loan may be applied for. It will take approximately 10 business days to receive the first check.

Does the school ever do any extracurricular activities?

In March/April we do our “Famous Couples” contest, August is our annual “Fantasy Competition”, October we have a Halloween costume contest, and in December we have a mannequin contest. We also have things we do in conjunction with many of our theory chapters. Nice prizes and/or cash are offered for all winners. Occasionally, we do go off campus for field trips. These are taken only with State Board approval.

Quotation mark

I just graduated from this school. I'm so thankful that I came here instead of any other school. Mrs. Sharon is a great teacher whom I've learned so much from. I would recommend going here!

- Joni B.

I was happy coming here. I liked that they never discriminated against me or my gender since I'm not a female going to Hair School. I have already recommended some friends and family over to start signing up for their classes for the spring. Very happy I started coming here, Sharon is very nice.

- Mike C.

Happy that I came here. Sharon really knows her stuff! I even found a job within just a few short weeks after graduation. I would definitely suggest to anyone that is looking to get their license to come here. Very good school.

- Bailey M.
